I'm Dorian Hartley — a small-business owner, a longtime Kingstonian, and a dad raising my family right here in Loyalist–Cataraqui.
Running a business in this city taught me how to balance a budget, solve problems, and show up for people every single day. I've put down roots here because I love this community — and because I want my kids to grow up in a Kingston that's even stronger than the one I found.
That's why I'm running. I want to be a councillor who listens first, stays accessible, and acts on what neighbours bring to me. I'll bring a practical, common-sense approach to City Hall and work alongside my colleagues and the community to deliver real results for the people who live here.
The Kingston we hand to the next generation.
When I look at my kids, I think about the city we're going to hand them. I want them to be able to build a life here — to find good local jobs, walk safe and welcoming streets, enjoy the parks and waterfront that make this place special, and trust that their City Hall spends their money wisely.
I'm running to be the councillor who picks up the phone, knocks on doors, and sweats the details — someone who brings your concerns to the table and works with colleagues across council to get things done. Together, we can keep building a Kingston we're all proud to pass on.
